At Dessie’s Doodles, our girls are the heart of our program—and their long-term health is our top priority. We are actively working to ensure every female in our breeding program completes comprehensive health testing, including OFA hips, elbows, eyes, heart, patellas, and dentition along with genetic testing on each of our dogs.
As of December 2025, we’ve also added PennHIP evaluations to our health protocol. We are in the process of getting PennHIP completed and up to date on all dogs who have not yet had this screening. This allows us to make even more informed, responsible breeding decisions and continue improving the structure, longevity, and soundness of our lines.
Our goal is simple: to keep raising healthier, happier dogs—generation after generation and to have our dogs tested ABOVE Chic standards.
Prior to 2026, some of our dogs had hip and elbow results based on OFA preliminary evaluations completed after 18 months of age with passing scores. As we’ve continued our education and stayed up to date on best practices within the breeding and veterinary communities, we recognize the importance of final OFA scores for long-term transparency and data contribution.
Moving forward, we are committed to updating all eligible dogs with final OFA hip and elbow certifications as part of our ongoing effort to raise the standard of our program.
