Meet Dessie
Who is Dessie?
Dessie, the owner of Dessie's Doodles is a mother, author, and experienced dog trainer. Starting out as just a child her parents pushed and encouraged her towards her passion for animals. She began training dogs and competing in obedience and conformation as a child in 4H for over 10 years. This passion evolved and as she became a young adult she began working with other individuals dogs to help aid them in meeting their training goals. Ultimately Dessie's love for animals led her to create Dessie's Doodles back in 2017.
Our "Why"
Dessie's Doodles was created by Destiny "Dessie" Judd. As the owner and operator Dessie saw a great need in the community for well bred canines that could function as companions for individuals with severe allergies and asthma like herself, and her family. It was not enough to just have an allergy friendly dog. Dessie wanted to create well bred, healthy, happy puppies with longevity in mind. In order to do that she started her program, originating with just 2 outstanding puppies, that have since evolved into our flourishing program.
Our "How"
With over 15 years of expirience in dog training, certifications as a puppy temperment evaluator, and true dedication Dessie pours her heart into running her home based program. Puppies from Dessie's Doodles are raised in our home. They play with our other dogs, our cats, our children. Dessie works hard and is very hands on to help encourage her puppies and aid them in reaching their full potential.

Paws for reading is a program that allows children to schedule a time at two of our local libraries, and practice their reading skills. They get to read to the dogs, who are non judgemental and avid listeners, and this gives them the opportunity to read aloud without being nervous like they might be if they had to read to another person.

Elementary School Visits
Our dogs are regular visitors at several of the nursing facilities in Connersville and the surrounding areas. The dogs love to visit with the residents, and bring a smile to their faces.

Some of our dogs have the pleasure of going to school! They visit one of our local elementary schools and spend the day with students giving them comfort, allowing them to read to them, and giving students a healthy incentive to complete their work!
